Craft Cabin Shell Frames

Shell Frames
Picture

Materials:

  • glue (white)
  • newspaper
  • paintbrush
  • unframed mirror
  • picture book
  • sea shells
  • varnish

You can find sea shells along the beach. Or, you can buy them in some variety stores, craft shops, pet shops, or import stores.

  1. Clean and dry your shells if you gathered them from the beach.
  2. Glue shells around the border of the mirror. Brush glue onto a small part of the border. Firmly place shells onto the glued section. Or, brush glue on one side of a shell. Then, firmly place the shell along the border.

Put any cracked and broken shells on first. Glue the prettiest shells on top of these. Continue gluing shells until you have covered the entire border.
  3. When you are finished gluing on the shells, varnish them. This will protect the shells and bring out their color.
  4. Glue a picture hook to the back of the mirror, and it is ready to hang up.

You can use shells to decorate all kinds of things. Cover an old picture frame with shells or try making a shell-covered vase from a glass jar, or a treasure chest from a cigar box.
