Discovery Encyclopedia 2013

The 2013 edition of World Book's Discovery Encyclopedia is a starter general A-Z look-up source in 13 hard-cover volumes. The set is designed to be used by newly independent readers or reluctant readers ages 8-10 whose first language is English and by students ages 10-13 learning English (English as a Second Language/English as a Foreign Language—ESL/EFL). There are colorful illustrations, pictures, and maps throughout the set. An index leads students to information wherever it is in the set, and an included collection of maps of the world supplements information in the set about countries and continents.

The set has easy-to-read articles about countries of the world, U.S. states, Canadian provinces and territories, such famous people as U.S. President Franklin Delano Roosevelt, Mexican painter Frida Kahlo, and Brazilian soccer player Pelé, and about such historical events as World War I and World War II.
