My mom really like it very much and she is 73 years old, very informative, she was our school librarian when i was in my primary years and she loves history so much. She likes flipping the pages better than surfing the web, though she is very active still in social media in her age.

Awesome! (Except cover design)

I loved reading the encyclopedia set we had growing up and wanted to give my kids the same experience. I love that my sons will just grab a volume and read for an hour at a time! We limit screen time at our house and believe the multiple studies that show that kids (and adults!) retain information better that they read out of a book than they retain if read from digital sources. The articles are great and the color pictures are plentiful. My one complaint, the reason I only gave 4 stars, is that the pictures on the outside covers are cheesy. We have our encyclopedias in the family room where they will be read more often, but the colors don't really match the rest of our decor. I would much rather have a classic looking set that would look classier on the shelf, but I want the newer information which only comes in bright colors. This prevented me from buying a set for several years until I finally gave in and now I just deal with the large picture of a parrot on my shelves. Not my favorite though.

Got the 2013 version recently (Feb. 2016) and the material is excellent. I know we should have got the 2016 Encyclopedia but, for the price, the 2013 edition has the best cost-benefit ratio. We have a couple of kids in early elementary school so we want them to use the encyclopedia rather than Wikipedia or else... so, that also helps to limit the time they are online, which is always good. I'd just love if Worldbook Inc would produce the annual updates for people that buys year X's 22 volumes X but want to keep up with the "1 year delta" without having to purchase year X+1's 22 volumes...

Outstanding

World Book is the BEST for students below college level or for family home use. It is the most approachable, so as a librarian I go for World Book whenever asked for encyclopedias.
