Throughout November, we explored the importance of reading to and with children as they grow and learn. As we know, access to strong, age-appropriate reading materials is a huge determinant of a child’s success in school and beyond. This holiday season, we’re taking action. For every book purchased on our site during the month of December, we’ll donate a book to be distributed to a child in need. Our partner in this Buy-a-Book, Give-a-Book promotion is Bernie’s Book Bank, an organization that sources, processes, and distributes children’s book to students in at-risk and low-income communities. Among these communities, access to proper reading materials is staggeringly low. Donated World Book products will be included in curated book bags delivered regularly to children who may otherwise go without books.
