OUR MISSION:

It is great to be a part of a team that shares my passion for learning. Along my path to World Book, I have been fortunate to hold global leadership roles in information, education, and publishing industries. I graduated from the US Naval Academy and received an MBA from the University of Virginia. In my spare time, I enjoy outdoor activities and spending time with my family and friends. What most appeals to me about World Book products is their ability to help reluctant readers transform themselves into confident learners. True or False, one of my favorite World Book series, sparks a child’s imagination with engaging content and vivid imagery in such a special way that disguises learning through fun.

I have been with World Book, Inc. since early 2017. I joined World Book, Inc. with over 16 years of experience building enterprise software in the education industry. I completed my undergraduate studies at Merrimack College and received my masters at DePaul University. Outside of work, I love spending time with my family, skiing, golfing, and coaching youth sports. My favorite product is Early World of Learning because my daughters love the interactivity, and we know they are are learning while having fun.

I have so many favorite World Book products, but one of my favorites is the Building Blocks series. My niece needed a little help with math in third grade. I introduced her to the Building Blocks of Mathematics books, which have a graphic novel approach to presenting what can otherwise be somewhat difficult subject matter for a new learner of math and science. The books helped to increase her interest in learning about math, and she brought the books to school to share with her teacher. Her teacher loved them and started using them in her lesson plans, so all the students could benefit from them! I earned my MBA from DePaul University.

Born a Brit, I moved to the U.S. in 2004. I have a love for photography and was excited to swap the backdrop of foggy London for the impressive skyline of Chicago. My love of photography, graphic design, and publishing led me to World Book. Now I oversee the development of all content, and it is impossible for me to have a favorite World Book product – I love them all! I am a staunch proponent of creating relevant and accurate content that will both educate and engage kids. I am proud that World Book consistently delivers such material. From Ancient Egypt to electric eels, pirates to soccer pitches, there is content that will spark the imagination of every reader, no matter the individual interest or reading level. But if you twist my arm, I would say that Ugh! Yuck! and Whoa! is my favorite World Book product – a great series for those who love creepy critters, strange facts or, like me, great photography.

I wish World Book Wizard was available when my daughter was in grade school. It would have made both of our lives easier with a tool that would have helped her reinforce and retain what she learned from her teachers. I received my undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois and my MBA from Northwestern University. I am passionate about helping students learn, and I have been with World Book, Inc. since 2015. I grew up in Chicago, where I still reside with my family.

World Book Kids is my favorite product. It has so many features, and is easy to navigate and visually engaging. It's the perfect introduction to learning and research for younger students. The Discovery Encyclopedia set is right up there with World Book Kids. I'm an alumnus of LaSalle University, and I live in Berks County, Pennsylvania, with my family. I have been with World Book since 2015.

A native Tennessean, I graduated from East Tennessee State University with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Health. I have been involved in Educational Sales my entire career, the last four with World Book. My favorite World Book product is our Early World of Learning digital resource, used by my grandchildren multiple times per week. I grew up in a World Book Encyclopedia family.

A Chicago-area native, I graduated from Miami University with a bachelor’s degree in finance. I’ve spent my entire career in the international school market, and I am thrilled to be joining a team that is incredibly dedicated to improving the lives of students and educators worldwide! I’m a strong believer in what B.B. King said, “The beautiful thing about learning is nobody can take it away from you.”
